Hello beautiful souls. Or should I say, strong mamas!
We have a guest on today’s episode, and Laura, founder of Peak Wellness, empowers postpartum women to reconnect with their athletic selves and find hope for healing. She is challenging the stigma that even though our bodies are different after having babies, it doesn’t mean that we have to accept certain issues like prolapse or incontinence as our new normal. She views the body more holistically to help all the parts work together to support and overcome postpartum symptoms.
But don’t tune out this episode if you're not specifically struggling in this area…we dive into the importance of body confidence, body self awareness, and the power of giving ourselves grace in the specific seasons we are in.
Laura is a mom, doctor of physical therapy, a certified personal trainer and pregnancy and postpartum corrective exercise specialist who transitioned out of a 13 year career spent working in the clinic to now building a virtual business that allows her to serve even more moms while creating a more flexible schedule for herself and her family.
She brings a light to moms that we can recover. We can heal. And that having kids doesn’t mean we have to give up our strong bodies. I am so thankful for what she does, bringing an outpatient health service into the world of motherhood to cater to moms using her core method exercise program, Core Strong Mom.

Isn’t it crazy that ‘normal’ is considered running around like a chicken with your head cut off? The terms ‘hot mess’, ‘messy bun’, ‘multi-tasker’ all correlate with ‘mom’.
I am not saying that I don’t call myself a hot mess sometimes, but that doesn’t mean that I am not intentional with keeping up with my life. If you personally know me, you probably know I am an organizer. Let’s not get that confused with being a good planner, though.. I’m not the most creative crayon in the box, and get anxious with a hard, strict schedule…but if there is one skill that has saved my life, it’s intentional organization.
But becoming a mom means gaining more responsibilities, never having a second to ourselves, becoming a multitasking, overstimulated rockstar who is being pulled in a million directions all the time but always manages to make it work…and all can be overwhelming, even for an organized person. The demands of life and motherhood can leave us feeling like we are spinning out of control.
So over the past 4 years, I have become super efficient at managing my time after becoming a work from home, stay at home mom.
